Measure JJ slows displacement and keeps people in their homes:
1. JJ strengthens rent control so landlords have to get the Rent Board’s approval to raise rents above an
annual cost of living increase.
2. JJ expands protection against eviction to all buildings built before 1996 so that landlords can only evict
renters with a “Just Cause,” such as failure to pay rent, lawbreaking activity, serious violation of lease
terms, or certain circumstances of owner move-in.
3. JJ makes the Rent Board more accountable to our community by making it more transparent.
